Restorative Yoga

Sophia Kouame in a British Wheel of Yoga and a Yoga Alliance Professionals qualified teacher. Her first qualification was a 390 hours training at Triyoga London under the guidance of Jean Hall and Mimi Kuo Deemer. Since then she has been inspired and worked with other remarkable teachers such as Donna Fahri, Max Strom, Anna Ashby, Charlotta Martinus, Jyoti Manuel and Ayala Homossany.

She is a Special Yoga practitioner, recently completing the level 2 training and she is an assistant to Jyoti Manuel’s teacher training core team, as well as being an advocate to Teenyoga’s ambition to support teenagers’ wellbeing; she was an Instil Conference participant April 2018. She also trained with Kari Knight to receive a BWY Yoga for People Living with Cancer qualification and Indian Head Massage for children with Special Needs with Giuliana Wheather. Her students are of all ages and abilities, however, Restorative Yoga is her forte, having trained and subsequently assisted Anna Ashby on her courses at Triyoga.

She believes it is simply vital to pause, rest and relax, give an invitation to breathe, keep the mind and body in balance, and re-energize. She is passionate to reach out to all, sharing her love of yoga with her deeply sensitive and attentive nature. Her clear and accessible instructions, informed by a continuous interest in the anatomy, emphasise safe alignments, whilst her interest in the philosophy of scriptural texts, helps to inspire the students and let them navigate through life’s challenges.
