Catherine Turner
Yoga Teacher & Meditation
Catherine Turner is an Editor and writer by trade and stepped onto the path of yoga and meditation about 20 years ago to stay grounded whilst working in the fast paced world of glossy magazines. Although she loved her job, the constant travelling and deadlines took their toll on her health - and she turned to yoga postures and meditation to deal with that ‘tired/wired’ treadmill. She delved into many styles including Jivamukti, Kundalini and hot yoga. The results were revelatory - niggling ailments such as hay fever and digestive issues fell away, and brought a newfound joy for life, alongside focus and clarity of mind.
She felt compelled to share the yogic techniques with others and embarked on a teacher training journey, first a 200hr course at a remote Sivananda Ashram in the Himalayas, then 390hrs at Triyoga, London and began teaching alongside her magazine and writing work. Over time, she has been privileged to practice with some of the world’s best yogis including Sharon Gannon, Gurmukh, Max Strom and Donna Farhi; she has studied Reiki; completed a healing course at the College of Psychic Studies as well as finding deep stillness in silent retreats.
Discovering Vedic mantra based meditation a few years ago brought such a profound shift, it inspired her to share the teachings, and so she embarked on deep practice and study, culminating in an intensive Vedic meditation teacher training course in Bali with renowned meditation teacher, Charlie Knoles. For the past 15 months she has been teaching Beginners Courses in Vedic meditation alongside one to ones and corporate guided meditations (including at Roald Dahl, White & Case and Axia). She appeared at Sweaty Betty Live in 2018, taking a guided meditation on the main yoga stage.
